ReplicantBody
is an open source real-time character animation toolkit built
upon Cal3D and OpenSceneGraph. ReplicantBody makes it easy to
populate a virtual environment with virtual humans that move realistically.
It handles the characters appearance and motions and is designed
to be:
-
Broadly capable, meaning that each character should have a rich
motion scheme
- Easily
controlled, in the sense of being intuitive and giving the user
or an artificiall intelligence system convenient control over
the characters
- Realistic,
the characters' motions should be natural and the transitions
between them seamless
Other
keywords of the project are portability and scalability. ReplicantBody
is therefore not tied to a specific platform, and it supplies
methods for level of detail-switching and uses model instaces
that share common data.
