GIS/Landscape visualization

Umeå universitet

We have developed a software that converts digital maps into three-dimensional landscape models. Models that represents an invaluable basis for landscape planning.

At high altitude we use satelite and aerial photographs as the base for the model. At lower altitudes three-dimensional representations of roads, vegitation and buildings are used. These objects are automatically generated from available information i digital maps.

The software generates realistic 3D models in which the user can travel freely. Apart planning, the models are also platform for other VR-applications. For example, flight- and vehicle simulators, GIS visualization, touristpresentation.
